REMITTANCE TO INDIA

Non Resident Indians can transfer funds through any one of the following modes: -


The details of the above remittances schemes are given below: -

NRI customers can transfer their funds through SWIFT from the accounts in their respective countries. The remittance will be received in foreign currency through State Bank of Patiala’s account maintained with Banks abroad as under:

The procedure for transferring funds in USD is given hereunder: Customers are required to fill up the Fund Transfer Application.


For Example : To transfer funds through J P Morgan Chase Bank, the Fund Transfer Application is to be filled as under:-

Remittance through Cashier’s cheques / personal cheques: -
Customers can also remit their cheques or Cashier’s Cheques for credit to their account either during their visit to India or through mail. These will be collected and credited to customer’s / beneficiary’s account.


Traveller cheques and Currency notes :-
Travellers Cheques/ Currency Notes can also be tendered at the branch for credit to customer’s account during their visit to India.


Remittance through Rupee draft through exchange companies. (for remittances from Gulf countries only)
State Bank of Patiala has entered into rupee drawing arrangements with the following exchange houses in the Gulf countries:-

These two exchange companies will accept remittances from our NRI customers and issue rupee draft drawn on any branch of State Bank of Patiala. The customers can send these drafts directly to State Bank of Patiala branches or deposit the same with the branch through their family member. The amount will be credited immediately on receipt of the draft at the branches.


Rupee remittance through SBI Express Remit
State Bank of Patiala has recently entered into arrangement with State Bank of India for funds transfer through SBI branches overseas.
